Lab detail
Objective
The Model Context Protocol lets an agent connect to a server that advertises tools, resources and capabilities — and the agent generally has no independent way to verify those advertisements are accurate or safe. This lab will build a reference MCP integration and test what an agent does when connected to a server that misrepresents itself.
Planned Scope
- Build a reference agent that connects to one or more MCP servers for tool access.
- Build a deliberately misbehaving reference MCP server (misleading tool metadata, unexpected responses).
- Test whether the agent detects or resists the mismatch between advertised and actual behavior.
- Document MCP connection patterns (allowlisting, capability verification, sandboxing) that reduce risk.

How this lab is run
This lab uses synthetic data and controlled environments. It is intended to demonstrate defensive AI-security principles and does not contain customer data, production credentials or intentionally weaponized exploit infrastructure.
